Adele will finally have an opportunity to meet me on Saturday night. I’m sure she’s getting very excited about that prospect around about now. She’d probably be nervous, the poor love. I mean she’ll be meeting Min of Write of the Middle for goodness sake!! She must be beside herself!!
All jokes aside – YES, I’m going to Adele’s concert in Brisbane on Saturday night and NO, she doesn’t even know of me … yet!!
I mean Hello, even though it seems like it was a Million Years Ago, Don’t You Remember when you first heard her sing? It had been a while since I’d heard a voice that gave me goosebumps and sent me Rolling in the Deep deep deep abyss of replaying songs over and over again and wanting to learn all the words. Adele, I’d been waiting for Someone Like You for a long time. Someone who would blow me away and make me enjoy singing again – I’m Crazy For You!
Her first album ’19’ was released in January 2008. Her second album ’21’ was released in January 2011. It was with the release of this album that I became aware of Adele. The first song of hers that I ever heard was ‘Rolling in the Deep’. Her third album ’25’ was released in November 2015.
Following the release of ’21’ Adele took a hiatus from music in order to take some time to live a bit. It might have felt a bit like the Cold Shoulder but I was mature and thoughtful, not like When We Were Young so therefore I understood her need for some space and I did the best thing I could do which was to Send My Love and wish her an enjoyable break. All I Asked of her was that she come back with her beautiful voice for us to listen to and more of her wonderful songs, because Adele – I Miss You.
And in 2015 she did come back, and it was all Water Under The Bridge because we got to hear more of her beautiful voice singing the incredible new songs on the album called ’25’. She had also got married and had a baby!
And now here we are in March 2017 and Adele and I have the opportunity to meet! Now Adele, I Can’t Make You Love Me but I can certainly Make You Feel My Love and I’ll Be Waiting to feel the Skyfall when you sing on Saturday night. I’m sure your people will know where I’m sitting and come find me so your dreams can come true!
Our kids gave us tickets to see Adele (in Brisbane) for Christmas. I’m really looking forward to seeing her LIVE. There’s been a lot in the media here about the fact 60,000 people will be attending the concert on Saturday night and the expected traffic chaos and excessive burden on the public transport system, so my anxiety will be well and truly tested as I really don’t like crowds and chaos. I like space and order! If I can cope with the crowds and chaos then I will have gone out of my comfort zone and survived … all for you Adele!
I can’t pick a favourite song of hers but here’s one of my favourites.
Are you seeing Adele while she’s in Australia? Anyone else going to be at the Brisbane concert on Saturday Night (4 March)? Have you worked out how you’re getting there and home again? How are you in crowds?

She’s not for me, but enjoy the show. I thought it was nice she wrote on the confetti….
I think she has a most fabulous voice! I think it was her partner that wrote on the confetti for their wedding anniversary (love notes). She noticed the confetti was pink instead of the usual white. 🙂
Hahaha. That’s clever! She’ll know you for sure.
Yeah for sure – especially after this post! I’m sure her people will contact my people. Oh crap – I’d better get some people!!
You are too clever Min! She is a very talented singer and I’m jealous that you are seeing her live. She will be fabulous.
Thanks Kathy! I think she has a phenomenal voice – I love it. I love most of her songs too – love the emotion in them.
Well if her Perth gig is anything to go from, you are in for a treat. Not that I was at the Perth concert. Felt like half of Perth was, including everyone on my IG feed.
I read about the Perth gig – and it looks like it was very much a success which is great to hear! It’s going to be amazing I’m sure! 🙂
I bet she’ll be thrilled to know you’re there! Hope you have a ball, I missed out this time.
I hope she’ll be thrilled that I’m there! It’s a hassle but I couldn’t let her down – you know?!
I enjoy some of Adele’s songs but am not a huge huge fan. Am sure she’ll be great in concert though as her voice is amazing!
Love Adele. Love her songs. Looking forward to seeing her live. I’m not what you’d call a fanatical fan though … of anyone! Haven’t been since my teens when I was in love with several male singers who wouldn’t have even known I was alive! LOL
My friends are going on Saturday night Min and I’m sure it will be fabulous. I live two streets from the Gabba so I’m sure I will be hearing some of the concert as well as trying to navigate our street parking with the crowds attending. Apparently, it will be a traffic jam around the streets surrounding the Gabba but we don’t mind. Have a wonderful time and look forward to your review.
We’re still to work out how to get there and home again (and how much time to allow)! If you live around there then yes you’re sure to have a heavy amount of cars parked around the streets. Glad you don’t mind! I suppose it wouldn’t happen too often? I’m sure it will be a fabulous night – once we get there! Hope your friends enjoy it too. 🙂
I love her songs! She’s so talented and funny, too. Love how you’ve written this post!
Thanks Di! I love her songs too and yes she is so talented and funny 🙂
Oh lucky you! A friend of mine went to her concert in Perth and said it was the best concert she’d ever been too! Enjoy! #teamlovinlife
Oh yes I’ve heard only good things about the Perth concert so that is good! It will be quite an experience I am sure. 🙂
Very clever post Min! My Miss 20 is going on Saturday night as well 🙂
Thanks Janet! I hope Miss 20 enjoys the night! 🙂
65,000 saw her in Perth – biggest crowd the road transport people have ever had to deal with. I love her music but not enough to brave all those people and all that traffic chaos. So glad you got to see her – and you included an amazing amount of her songs in that post!
The Brisbane City Council are freaking out about these concerts because they’re being held at the Gabba where they’re not usually held so they’re worried about the chaos and strain on public transport etc. 120,000 people will see her here – 60,000 at 2 concerts. I am really looking forward to seeing Adele LIVE but must admit the chaos and crowds is not something I am looking forward to at all.
Love your clever post incorporating Adele songs Min. I hope you have a fabulous time on Saturday night. I would have loved to go and see her, but I had only just purchased tickets for my daughter to go and see Justin Beiber when the Adele tickets were released…. sigh! Enjoy 🙂 #TeamLovinLife
Thanks Lyndall! My kids bought these tickets as a Christmas gift or else I wouldn’t have been going. xo
Ha ha, great post. I know you will have a good time. Live concerts are hard to beat.
Thanks Jan! 🙂
Wow, Min.
That’s going to be such a fantastic show!
I don’t know all of her songs, but her voice is so fantastic!
And what a great first photo—did you photoshop that yourself?

She has a fabulous voice doesn’t she? Yes I photoshopped that photo myself – late at night so not as good as I wanted it to be but my eyes needed sleep! haha x
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!
Your first photo today is epic!!!

Thank you! Haha – first photo shoot with Adele – tried so hard not to upstage her! 😉 xo
Love how you opened this… and I’m sure Adele would be very excited to meet you. I’ve heard fab things about her concerts. #LovinLifeLinky
Thanks Carol – her concert was just fabulous! 🙂
