ART CHAT #20
DAY 8 – QUEENSTOWN & ARROWTOWN (NEW ZEALAND)
20 May 2023
Today was ‘the Tennis Player’s’ birthday (otherwise known as Rob as you’ll see in the sketchbook) so the first sketch/painting is to capture his Shotover Jet Boat birthday experience!
The second sketch/painting captures the most delicious soup I think I’ve ever had. It was Pumpkin & Coconut Soup with Cheese Puffs on the side and we had it at The Postmasters Kitchen & Bar at Arrowtown. It also depicts the gorgeous Jade/Greenstone earrings that I bought myself at Arrowtown.
You can read all about this day in this post >> NZ Trip – Queenstown & Arrowtown. The sketches for Day 9 (21 May 2023) which is also covered in that post will be shared in the next Art Chat post.
Ciao for now,

Really excellent sketches, Min. I love that with the shotover jet is my favourite!
A cheesery? That sounds like something I’d love to visit!
Thanks Susanne! Yes – a cheesery – the most gorgeous cheese and deli type foods and there’s a winery attached too. We were going to try some wines but the cost for wine tasting was horrendous!
I love your art Min and it’s such a fun way to look back at your holiday – little snippets that were important and this makes them more meaningful than just taking a photo.
Hi Leanne, thank you! It’s slow going as I haven’t had much time but I’m getting there bit by bit!
I love your artwork Min. And i love new zealand so a winning combo 🙂
Thanks Sherry!
You really are talented Min, what a great way to have memories of your trip! I loved Arrowtown too 🙂
Thanks Debbie – it’s a beautiful part of the world isn’t it?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drawing of a speedboat/tourist jet thingy before 🙂 Thank you for sharing. Brings back great memories of the two I have been on.
Haha – and I’ve never drawn one before either! It was definitely a first!
And now I know the tennis player’s name! Love your sketches as memories of your trip to NZ.
I always appreciate your linking up to #WWandPics this week and thanks for sharing your post. I hope to see you next Wednesday too. Warm wishes, Denyse.
Hi Denyse, I thought you’d know his name already from my personal FB page .. but anyway – you know now! lol Glad you like the sketches/paintings (I never know what to call them). It’s slow going of late as I’ve been so busy but I’m getting there!
