DAY 9 – QUEENSTOWN (NEW ZEALAND)

Today started with a lovely relaxed morning with no rush to get anywhere in a hurry. After breakfast & morning coffee we went on a cruise of Lake Wakatipu and then had some delicious dumplings for lunch. After lunch we went for a walk around the Queenstown Gardens and explored Artbay Gallery where I fell in love with collages done by Thai artist ‘Virut Penchabuse’. The sketch/painting that you see of the lady in a scarf with writing over her is my depiction of one of my favourite collages of his. As mentioned in my Taking Stock post last week, I’m taking a small break in order to free up some more time for me to get some art done. I should be back with my next post on 1 November. I’ll be taking a longer break over the Christmas/New Year break. I’ll be reading and commenting on posts from Denyse’s link up today as soon as I can (I’m over at Mum’s at the time this publishes) but after that I’ll be absent from the blogosphere until 1 November.

Thank you Deb. I like my depiction of the collage and it’s not often I say that! I’m looking forward to the break. Sometimes we just need to open up a bigger window of time for ourselves so that we can do what we want to do! I’ll be back before long though. xo

The drawings are incredible! I visited Queenstown in 2008 and was blown away by its beauty.
