Here we are with my last post for 2023 and it’s the one where I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I want to thank all of you – my blogging friends, my IRL friends (including my art friends), those that follow me on social media, and extended family who have been so encouraging and supportive and kind to me during these recent challenging times for myself and my family. Many of you I’ve always known as kind souls and you didn’t disappoint – always there with kind and encouraging messages for me. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough! More kind souls amongst you have been revealed too! Those who previously have followed along quietly in the background. You spoke up with the most lovely and kind messages, and they have really touched me. Never underestimate the difference those messages make. Those messages lifted my spirits at times when I was exhausted from worry and lack of sleep, was very stressed, and my spirits were so low. They meant so much to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you also for the wonderful support and enthusiasm for #WWWhimsy – I took the linkup on at a crazy time of my life. I was sick with Covid. I was busy caring for Mum (not when I had Covid though!), and then Mum’s fall out of bed and everything that has come thereafter … BUT I wouldn’t change any of it (the hosting of #WWWhimsy I mean … I would change the bit where Mum fell out of bed)! I love our little #WWWhimsy community. I really enjoy the connections with you all. I look forward to catching up with what you’ve been up to and what’s been happening in your world. I would be lost without our weekly catch ups via our posts and comments on each other’s posts and that is why I decided to step in when I did (after Denyse’s blog and linky closed) so that wouldn’t be lost to us and we could stay connected and sharing each week as usual.
I ‘am’ pressing pause on #WWWhimsy for 4 weeks though over the Christmas/New Year period because I want to walk my talk. I’m a strong believer in self care, being present, digital detox – all the things we need to stay mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually well. The Christmas and New Year period is a time of year when you shouldn’t even know what day it is. There should be no deadlines, no rushing, no busy’ness. It’s time to be present with your family, lie about reading books, float in the pool, find new places for all the gifts you received over Christmas, and time to have a break from cooking and eat up all the Christmas leftovers. It might be a good time to start or restart some new healthy habits (for me it’s to start walking again). It does us a lot of good to get away from gadgets and computers and social media and timelines. I also think the break will help me to feel more refreshed and ready to kick off another blogging year on 17 January 2024. Well that’s how I feel anyway!
Thank you to everyone who has supported my blog. Those that just lurk in the background reading. Those that like my social media posts. Those that comment and interact. All of you! Y’all come back again next year you hear!
Thank you for all the support and encouragement for my art! I’m a terrible self critic and those comments always help me to believe more in myself and spur me on to keep going with it. Thank you!
To wrap up, I would like to wish you and your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2024!
I’ll see you here for #WWWhimsy again on Wednesday 17 January 2024. I look forward to hearing about your Christmas and New Year festivities and I have no doubt there will be a swarm of WOTY (word of the year) posts to read and enjoy. Safe and happy holidays!
Wishing that your Christmas sparkles with festive cheer, like the shining star that you are!
Ciao for now,
[A little secret to share – shhh – the ‘gift’ on the photo of me above was strategically placed to cover up a gaping dress showing a little too much cleavage. The Christmas trees were placed to balance the look out. The Santa hat added to complete the Christmas theme.]
