I was delighted to be asked to review some UGG boots, and look, it’s a tough gig walking around on clouds of beautiful Australian wool encased in Australian Sheepskin, but I do these things for you, Ok?!  You’re welcome!  Now these aren’t just any ‘ol UGG boots, these are genuine Aussie UGG boots – made in Australia (in Victoria actually) by an Australian owned company, and from genuine Australian sheepskin and wool.  These were made by Original UGG Boots Australia.  Original UGG Boots Australia have over 30 years experience manufacturing sheepskin UGG boots in Australia.  If you want genuine Australian made UGG Boots look for the Australian Made/Made in Australia tags as pictured below.

It’s Autumn in Australia at the moment and in Brisbane it’s still feeling like summer through the days, but perhaps a little cooler in our mornings.  Even though it’s not yet cold in Brisbane, nothing could stop me from slipping my new UGG boots on the minute they arrived and I’ve been wearing them around the house quite often since.  They are absolute heaven to wear.  I’m wearing a size 6 and they fit perfectly – snug and supportive but with plenty of wriggle room for my toes.  The wool on the inside is so soft and comforting and most importantly, breathable.  So we’ve established that they are a joy and pleasure to wear, but how do they look and are they practical?

I was sent the ‘Classic Short UGG Boots’ in Chestnut Napa.  I had a choice in what I was sent and let me tell you – the choice was very hard!  There are so many gorgeous colours and varieties to choose from (see next paragraph).  In the end, I selected these because 1) they suit the Brisbane climate and 2) my vertically challenged frame 3) the fact that they were suitable for indoor/outdoor wear seemed a practical choice, and 4) I loved the Chestnut colour which would go with most of my clothes.  So you can see me wearing them above with bare legs.  I was wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt on a warm but cloudy day.  I love the casual, relaxed, comfortable, legendary UGG boot look!  They’re an Aussie icon!  They not only look great but I really love that they’re Australian made from the finest double-faced sheepskin, feature a Goomi rubber sole, have reinforced heel support, and that the rubber sole of the UGG boots are ridged providing a secure non-slip grip which is reassuring particularly when wearing outdoors!  Wins all ’round!

I love the length of the Classic Short UGG Boots – perfect for tucking in your jeans and keeping your feet and ankles warm and toasty and perfect for where I live where it can get brisk and chilly at times but certainly far from arctic conditions!  I’ve explained why I chose this style of UGG boots but they also come ultra short, classic short, deluxe, tall, limited edition, rugged, laced, with bows, as slippers, for kids, and more!

To wrap up – these UGG boots are comfortable, practical, look good, and are genuinely Australian made with Australian sheepskin and wool.  Not only do you get a fabulous product from Original UGG Boots Australia but isn’t it nice to support a proudly Australian made and owned company!

I do need to point out to be careful when purchasing UGG Boots, especially if you have your heart set on buying a quality product that is authentically Australian made.  There are quite a few imitation Aussie UGG boots out there.  Many of them aren’t even made in Australia or from Australian sheepskin.  They are imported and fake.  Look for the Australian Made/Made in Australia tags as per the images in this post.

I’d love to reveiw a pair of UGG boots! I’m needing a pair for this winter and have been looking around for some. I love your choice in them! I’ve noticed how many knock offs there seem to be around! I definitely would prefer the original Aussie made version even if they do cost a bit more.

Yep, you’re talking my language. Is there anything better than genuine Aussie Uggs? No, I don’t think so either.

Totally agree. I have a soft spot for genuine Aussie UGGS! 🙂

Oh I love ugg boots Min and these look so warm and comfy! I haven’t actually taken it to wearing them out but these days they look pretty stylish and all the celebs do don’t they? I wish Brisbane was a littler cooler in winter as I love wearing winter clothes. Have a great week and thanks for the review. x

Thanks Sue! I love them too. There’s something so comforting about UGG boots. I haven’t worn UGGS out before either but it does seem to be done a lot more these days. I think if it were cold enough, I’d wear them out and about without hesitation. I can see me at the markets in them on a cold winter’s day. lol xo

I own this exact pair Min – in the same colour and the same style and they are my comfort shoes for Winter – they’ve lasted for years and years and as soon as I get home from work I slide my little toes into them and sigh contentedly. They weren’t cheap, but they are a million times better than the cheap knock-offs with synthetic lining. You’ll have your pair for a long time to come.

Fancy you owning a pair the same Leanne! They’re lovely to wear aren’t they? I’m looking forward to many years ahead with my new UGGS lol 🙂

I love my Uggs in winter! You do have to be careful as you point out, because there are many imitations out there. #TeamLovinLife

I’m looking forward to cooler weather so I can be snug in my new UGGS. If it doesn’t cool down soon my UGGS and I might have to jet off to Melbourne or Tasmania for some cooler weather! 🙂

I am desperate for the weather to cool down so I can dust off my pink uggs. Thanks for the review and I hope it helps send cooler weather over to Sydney.

Oh how exciting! I’ve never thought about owning Ugg boots. They were a bit tragic until some Hollywood types adopted them and then became so cool! #teamlovinlife

Probably because it’s all the places claiming to be genuine “Australian” or “Aussie” UGG boots made of genuine Austrailan wool and sheepskin and in fact they are not (not made in Australia and not made of Australian wool or sheepskin). You probably wouldn’t be aware of that over there in the US. You’re right though Jodie – they are so warm and comforting in the cold weather – just divine to wear. 🙂 xo

At the moment it doesn’t feel like winter will come at all!

    • Reply Min April 13, 2018 at 4:02 pm

      I know! Surely soon?!!

What an incredible sacrifice you have made Min 😉 . Having had the imitations without breathable wool, they’re just no the same. It’s gotta be real UGG boots FTW!

    • Reply Min April 13, 2018 at 4:04 pm

I know but I’m willing to go into the salt mines and the sacrifice is worth it so that I can bring vitally important information and guidance to my readers (bahaha). I agree – real UGGS boots all the way. Love them! 🙂

I’ve often wondered if UGG boots are all they are cracked up to be but now you’ve convinced me they really are! Breathable sounds good as I sit here in fluffy but synthetic slippers! Can’t wait to see what else you wear those genuine Aussie UGGs with.

    • Reply Min April 16, 2018 at 12:55 pm

They are heaven to wear Jo…especially on a really cold and dreary day. Such comfort! 🙂 x

There is only one kind of UGG boot, you are right, must be Aussie. I loved mine and they were very well worn (out) when we moved and their life ended. I am sure that despite the Queensland weather there will be UGG boots in my life again.

    • Reply Min April 16, 2018 at 12:57 pm

I hope you have UGG boots in your life again Jan. There’s a brief glimpse of winter in Queensland where you can wear them LOL … and some brisk mornings and evenings during Autumn if you’re lucky! 🙂

I have sheepskin boots. I often talk about them in my gratitudes for winter. Can’t do without them in Canberra. My bestie in the US grabbed some when she was over here 10 years ago. She was adamant she wanted the originals . So that’s what she got. They are still going strong. #teamlovinlife
