Welcome to Skin Care Saturday #13

Today we are looking at the seventh (alphabetically) of the twenty-nine ingredients contained within our Gorgeous Woman, Gorgeous Girl, and ManOil8 products.  Oils already examined have been Apricot Kernal Oil (Australian), Argan Oil (Moroccon), Avocado Oil (Australian), Sweet Almond Oil (Australian), Castor Oil, and Camellia Seed Oil.

First, an important note from Anne (co-founder of WomanOil8 Australia and developer of the products):

Please note, I would never recommend that you use any plant oil individually for skincare.  Oils are incredibly rich, nourishing, and restoring and can cause irritation, redness or even burning if not blended correctly with other oils. In a perfectly balanced blend, using a dozen or more plant oils, even the most sensitive skin will benefit.

Today we’re looking at …

Carrot Infused Oil (Infused in organic Australian sunflower oil)

(Daucus carota infused)

daucus carota, flowers, white flowers, plant

Daucus carota, whose common names include wild carrot, bird’s nest, bishop’s lace, and Queen Anne’s lace (North America), is a white, flowering plant in the family Apiaceae, native to temperate regions of Europe and southwest Asia, and naturalized to North America and Australia.  Daucus carota subspecies sativus is cultivated as an annual across much of the temperate and tropical world for its edible, orange storage roots. Carrot is a major root vegetable for human consumption, and also an important fodder crop, with world production of over 20 million megatons.  Daucus carota, Umbelliferae or Apiaceae family, is mostly known for its edible root from Daucua carota spp. sativa, the cultivated carrot. However the seeds contain an essential oil as well. Commercial production of the essential oil is mainly carried out with the leftovers of carrot seed production aimed at growers. The species Daucus carota includes various wild subspecies.
