I’m loving this Mozi Blue Pansy Hanging Planter and the lovely flowering plant in it. They were a belated gift from my Sydney sister for my birthday – given to me recently when she was in Brisbane for the school holidays.
I’m also loving the winter version of my front garden!
Hey there – it’s nearly the end of July so time for Taking Stock again.Β Here we go!
Making:Β time for myself
Cooking:Β lots of divine winter soups still!
Drinking:Β loads of water
Reading:Β lots of blog posts, haven’t started a new book yet
Wanting:Β all my family and friends to be happy and healthy
Looking:Β forward with nervous anticipation to the ProBlogger event in August
Playing:Β not enough
Deciding:Β how to better balance all the things I want to do
Wishing:Β I had a magic wand
Enjoying:Β a winter without the daily commute – cold, early mornings & cold, dark evenings
Waiting:Β for the weather to clear because I have a DIY planned – I will be re-painting the pool fence (changing it from green to charcoal)!
Liking:Β that Energex finally came and connected up our new solar panels.Β We are now generating our own power!
Wondering:Β what to wear and pack for the ProBlogger event in August
Loving:Β the Mozi – Blue Pansy Hanging Planter and plant in it (flowering so beautifully right now) that was given to me as a birthday gift by my Sydney sister
Pondering:Β how I’ll go at keeping the weight off and hopefully losing some more!
Considering:Β options for the best way forward to achieve my goals in a healthy and sustainable way
Buying:Β lots of work clothes for my boys in preparation for interviews, work experience and hopefully soon jobs!
Watching:Β The Voice – wow there is some talent on that show this year!
Hoping:Β that all will be as it is meant to be
Marvelling:Β at my son (Twin 2) who graduated last Thursday with a double degree:Β Business & Journalism!Β Awesome achievement!
Cringing:Β at the cost of our recently installed solar panels – they better earn their keep!
Needing:Β less go, go, go and more no, go slow OR more energy!
Questioning:Β why employment is so difficult for University graduates these days
Smelling:Β as per usual – I have no sense of smell sigh
Wearing:Β at the time of typing this – baggy khaki pants and a navy and white 3/4 sleeve striped top
Following:Β my instincts
Noticing:Β that our garden has a distinct winter look which is very different to how it looks in summer – but I like it!
Knowing:Β that Christmas is fast approaching and I really should try to be more prepared and organised this year!
Thinking:Β how we become so much more higher maintenance as we get older
Admiring:Β so many people who are incredibly brave through adversity
Sorting:Β my way through multiple out of control email in boxes
Getting:Β used to my coffee made differently now – with coconut milk and stevia
Bookmarking:Β lots of new blogs I come across that I want to go back and read but I never seem to find the time!
Coveting:Β my own photography studio
Disliking:Β my limitations sometimes
Opening:Β too many bills!
Giggling:Β on Friday nights – The Living Room, followed by The Graham Norton Show
Feeling:Β a bit unwell
Snacking:Β on nuts and seeds
Helping:Β my boys with the transition from University to job seeking and hopefully soon paid work!
Hearing:Β not much at all which is lovely – silence is golden!
Woo!Β Another month done!Β Hope your July has been awesome.Β Bring on August – big month for me!

Your garden is beautiful! You must be a green thumb! Love this post. I’m into the Voice this year as well and thinking Christmas shopping should happen sooner than later with lots of family interstate – 19 Friday’s till Xmas they say!
Thank you Caroline! I’m not really a green thumb – I just strike it lucky sometimes. I’ve actually had a bit of a struggle with my front garden due to a huge big leopard tree on the footpath that shades much of my garden and takes all the nourishment. So, it’s a bit hit and miss out there! lol Only 19 Friday’s till Xmas – NOoooo!! π
As usual really wonderful photos Min. My favourite is the second last one with the wildflowers growing alongside the fence and path. They have escaped and found their freedom. Don’t cut them back let them go for a while.
Thank you Patrick – I don’t have any plans to cut anything back out in the garden. I love things a bit wild out there! π Those photographs were snapped in a hurry when I realised I needed some images to go with my post.
Isn’t Graham Norton a hoot? And I hear you about needing more go – must be the weather. And I agree that it’s way too hard for uni graduates these days, nice to see what you’ve been up to- Too many bills here too x
Yes! Graham Norton is such a hoot. Gee he makes me laugh! What’s with all these bills? What happened to receiving a good old fashioned letter – that’d make a nice change! π x
You will not regret solar panels! We haven’t had a bill for nearly three years! the last one we were in credit $500.
I am never organised for Christmas and I could do with no sense of smell, my slippers are starting to smell a bit funky π
I have been getting sucked into The Voice too. Usually I don’t watch past the blind auditions. Love that hanging pot x
Good to hear your positive feedback on solar panels Alicia! Hoping they will save us lots of $$’s! π x
What a delightful garden. I can hardly believe another month has flown by. I need a pause button.
Thanks Raychael – I need a pause button too! The year is flying by too fast!
Snap Min! Hope you are feeling better, we’ve had sickness in our house and I’ll be glad when it goes. How sweet is that gift from your sister And as to your boys graduating , you must be very proud! Can’t believe it’s August tomorrow, so not long till PB, I’ll be looking for you! x
I’m feeling better now thanks Steph. Sorry to hear there’s been sickness in your house! I did try and comment on your Taking Stock post the other day but it wouldn’t let me. I’ll try again. I can’t believe it’s only a bit over a week till ProBlogger. I’m not organised or ready for it *gulp*! I’ll look out for you too! π x
Oh man I agree with the high maintenance with age phenomenon Min – I am hard work.. for myself more than anyone lol. I am not going to Problogger this year so I will be living vicariously through you guys and nursing some envy. have a fabulous weekend hun and thanks for linking up with us xx
LOL I am hard work too these days Sonia. Life was much easier and lower maintenance when I was younger. xo
Hi Min, Popping over from The Weekend Rewind. I’ve done my very first Taking Stock post in July, and loved it so much, I’m going to continue each month. A great list to look back on. Congratulations to your son on attaining a double degree. That’s such an achievement. Love Graham Norton. He’s such fun. But noticed he wasn’t on tonight. Hope it’s just this week. Enjoy Pro Blogger. I so wish I was going. x
Hi Di – thanks so much for visiting! I’m glad you enjoyed doing your first Taking Stock post. I did my first one in February this year and have been doing one each month since. With regards to Graham Norton not being on last Friday night – yes I know! I hope it is temporary too! Have a great week! π x
Following your instincts makes very good sense, Min. Sometimes I wonder if I can really ‘feel’ my instincts anymore, you know?
I love that hanging planter. It’s so sweet! x
Hey there Bron – yes I do know! π I love that hanging planter too – it’s a *feel good* kinda planter! π xo
