The photographs above are a flashback to our Burleigh Heads holiday last year – December 2014 –
nothing to do with November 2015 except that I’m dreaming and looking forward to being back there.
I have a heap of books that need reading and that view needs me looking at it!
It’s December already but we’re not too far in so it’s ok for me to Take Stock on the November just gone!
Making: Lots and lots of lists (Xmas gifts, what to pack, to do etc)
Cooking: Dinner every night, as per usual
Drinking: Lots of water – trying to be good
Reading: Lots of blog posts
Wanting: World Peace. Enough with terrorism, tragedies and innocent lives cut short. I want a better world for my children!
Looking: Forward to when my sister gets her new (and first ever) puppy! (early January – a little boy red toy poodle)
Playing: Songs from Adele’s new album – ’25’ – love them, love her!
Deciding: What Xmas gifts to buy for all my people
Wishing: Christmas Day could be cool for a change
Enjoying: Some alone time at home now that all kids are working
Waiting: For our one week escape to Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast coming up soon in December
Liking: Less food eaten and less mess in the kitchen now all kids are out of the house and working
Wondering: How much longer our dog Chelsea (seen in this post) will go on. She’ll be 16 in March. She’s certainly aged since last birthday!
Loving: Aircon. Enough said!
Pondering: What I’d like for Christmas
Considering: My way forward for 2016
Buying: Lots of Christmas gifts!
Watching: A lot more ABC and SBS these days – discovering some great shows!
Hoping: I can cope ok when my daughter leaves for overseas and is away from me for 2 months
Marvelling: At the fact I am almost done with Christmas shopping and it’s only the beginning of December!
Cringing: Over the fact that I really need to go shopping for new swimmers OR I could cross my fingers and buy online – I love the swimmers at this place!
Needing: A break from the usual routine, computers and social media!
Questioning: What I really want to do
Smelling: Yawn! Nothing as usual. (see all previous Taking Stock posts)
Wearing: Jeans and a t-shirt – casual should be my middle name!
Following: My instincts
Noticing: That if I don’t write things down that I need to do it is highly likely I will totally forget!
Knowing: That a holiday at the beach is just what I need at the moment
Thinking: That I can’t believe it is so close to Christmas already!
Admiring: My daughter’s confidence
Sorting: Through all the tasks and things I need to get done
Getting: Tired lately – ready for a holiday away
Bookmarking: Blog posts with recipes I want to try – like these!
Coveting: This book by Kara Rosenlund, Photographer, Stylist, Adventurer, Author & Storyteller
Disliking: Terrorism, extremists, trauma, fear, despair, innocent lives cut short
Opening: Christmas cards have started coming in our mail. Lovely change from bills!
Giggling: I’ve been seeing some really funny video’s on Facebook lately
Feeling: Ready for 2015 to end and a fresh new 2016 to begin
Snacking: Trying not to
Helping: My old dog Chelsea to get outside and back in again
Hearing: Snoring dogs and rumbling thunder!
Ciao for now,

I love beach photos
Me too and there will be more of mine to share after our week at Burleigh 🙂
I have a handful of gifts yet to buy! I love that it’s nearly done 🙂
I have only a handful of gifts yet to buy and organise too. It feels so good! 🙂
So close to xmas and yet so much to do!!
It’s always so busy this time of year! Not quite as bad for me now I don’t have kids at school (i.e. no speech nights etc)
Min I come up with great ideas and think I cannot possibly forget this.. then the next day i can’t find it anywhere. argh
Glad I’m not the only one Natalie. My mind is like a sieve these days – ideas/thoughts/things to do go in and straight out again. I have to write everything down and hope I don’t lose my list! I put lots of reminders in my phone 🙂
Min, I know this is more a taking stock than photography post but the middle photo of the lone surfer is brilliant. The way that you have centred him, have the water, the rocks the trees and the sky on the horizon line is fantastic. Great work again.
Cheerio,
Patrick
Thanks Patrick – so glad you like that photo. There are heaps more photo’s on the blog from that trip to Burleigh last year. I guess a search would find them!
Gorgeous photos! I am buying lots of Chrissie presents too trying to get organised this year. My post man is a daily occurrence delivering parcels at the moment – its getting quite embarrassing!
I actually haven’t bought one thing online this year (I did last year) so no parcels arriving for me. There are parcels arriving for the kids though. Now they have incomes there’s no stopping them! 😉
So grateful I almost finished my Christmas shopping yesterday. Had to drag myself to the shops after work, but was so glad I did. Tomorrow the wrapping starts. xx N (Love the pics)
I’m grateful I’ve nearly finished mine too. I hate it when there is panic buying in the days before Xmas. I haven’t wrapped a thing yet. In fact, I must buy some Xmas wrapping paper!! Thanks for the compliment on the pics too BTW. 🙂 xo
Thanks for linking back to my cookies, they are super yum, if I say so myself! So impressed that you’ve finished all your shopping, now you can really kick back and relax. And I’m with you on the writing down, if I don’t write it down, I don’t remember! Hope you don’t have to wait too long for that holiday!
My pleasure to link to your cookies – they have me obsessed! I must make them very soon! I haven’t completely finished my xmas shopping but only a few things to get which I can buy locally. I don’t have long to wait for a holiday at all. We head off to Burleigh Heads on Friday. xo
