I’ve seen other bloggers doing Pip’s ‘Taking Stock’ exercise and love the idea so I thought I’d have a go myself. What a fantastic way to do a bit of an audit on yourself to see how you’re feeling and stuff! Here I go!
Making: Plans for my future and hoping all the hard work will eventually pay off!
Cooking: Dinner every night for the family and a big container of salad for me to last for a week of lunches (I just add a little protein each day).
Drinking: In addition to my coffee, lots of water with a dash of diet lime juice cordial!
Reading: The latest Diana Gabaldon book in the Outlander series: “Written in my own heart’s blood”. It’s taking me awhile to get through it. It’s a big, thick book and I have been having trouble staying awake long enough at night to read much!
Wanting: Too many things! I’d love my own photography studio set up here at home, a reno of our bathroom, ensuite and kitchen and new carpet just to name just a few.
Looking: At nature as much as I can. It calms me and makes me feel good.
Playing: ‘Words with Friends’ on my phone with a girlfriend. It’s my weakness. I love word games! We have several games on the go all the time!
Deciding: Where to go to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary next year.
Wishing: Money was not necessary in life!
Enjoying: My lovely new blog!
Waiting: For everything to click into place.
Liking: The fact I have lost a few kg’s!
Wondering: What 2015 will bring me!
Loving: The fact that I have graduated with a Diploma of Professional Photography.
Pondering: How best to combine my photography and blogging passions without burning myself out.
Considering: Upping the ante with my exercise plan to help shift some more weight.
Watching: My garden come to life and bloom now that it is warming up!
Hoping: That all my plans and dreams come together!
Marvelling: At this whole new world of opportunity before me now that my WordPress blog is self-hosted.
Needing: A holiday – somewhere with loads of beautiful nature where I can relax and take photographs!
Smelling: I have no sense of smell. Neither does one of my sons. Not sure why!
Wearing: Casual, comfy clothes – that’s me!
Following: My favourite bloggers.
Noticing: That Christmas is getting close!
Knowing: That with Christmas nearly here there is lots of expense ahead!
Thinking: That the interior of the house needs painting.
Admiring: People who are confident and happy in their own skin!
Sorting: Clothes that fit and clothes that don’t fit. Hoping more will fit soon!
Buying: Groceries! With five adults living here, we go through a lot!
Getting: Excited about five nights away in mid-December at Burleigh Heads!
Bookmarking: Photography and Photoshop tutorials as well as some sites with great reading for bloggers.
Disliking: All the awful things in the news these days.
Opening: Mail – mostly bills.
Giggling: Should do it more!
Feeling: A little overwhelmed at the moment.
Snacking: Mostly fruit as I’m trying to lose weight.
Coveting: A camera bag. I need a bag that can safely hold my camera and various lenses.
Wishing: My graduated son would find a job!
Helping: My family all the time by keeping the household running smoothly.
Hearing: Chelsea (my nearly 15 year old dog) scratching at one of my boys bedroom door. She has always been food crazy and she wants food now!
There – I did it! It took quite a bit of thinking to do! Have you done the ‘Taking Stock’ exercise lately? If you have – link up your post in the comments. I’d love to have a read!
Ciao for now,

Admiring: that you are celebrating 30 years of marriage next year – amazing!
Loving: your rebranded blog!
Happy Friday Min xx
Thanks Amanda! Yes – I can’t believe it will be 30 years. I was very young when we married obviously! Glad you like my rebranded blog. I like it too! 🙂 x
I’ve seen a few people do this too. I might have to give it a whirl!
It was fun to do but takes a bit of time. I’ll do it again in a month or two I think 🙂
So does not having a sense of smell affect your taste? I can think of many situations when not having smell would be an advantage. We should all giggle more! I couldn’t agree more Min! My husband has just started a photography blog. I have a cat named Chelsea! She’s about twelve and is always scratching on the door for food too!
A lot of people ask me that question and the answer is no! I taste everything very well and love my food! 🙂 I sometimes think I get a sense of smell but I am not sure if it is smell or taste. It is only extreme situations – eg the smell/taste of petrol at a service station and another example would be the time I walked into my house and one my kids had burnt popcorn in the microwave and I knew instantly what it was. Was it smell or taste – I don’t know? I can’t smell flowers, perfume or food etc. I get nothing! Don’t feel bad for me though because what you’ve never had you don’t miss! Also – it was very handy at nappy changing time when my kids were babies and also at other times *ahem*. OMG – can’t believe that about your cat. It must be something about the name Chelsea?! 😉
I do adore these lists Min. Oh how I love Diana Gabaldon, haven’t read her in years but I used to pour over her novels! I’m all signed up to your newsletter, thanks for signing up to mine lovely x
They are fun to do! Really get you thinking and looking inward! 🙂 I have never taken so long to read a book – honestly! I used to go through heaps of books when I was on the train twice a day commuting to work. Now I feel too guilty to read through the day and only allow myself to at night when I’m too tired! Thanks for subscribing to my newsletter. Hope you don’t mind it in your inbox once/fortnight. I enjoyed your first one! 😉 xo
I love both doing these lists and reading them Min as I love getting to know more of whats going on in my fave blogger’s minds and lives. I have one going up tomorrow. I usually do it once a month and it is great to just sit and reflect on what has happened since the last one I did. I’m with you too – I am really disliking all the awful things in the news as well xx
I like them for the same reason Sonia! I’m going to pop over and read yours now I know you’ve got one being published today. I will look inside your mind – bahaha! 😉
Love these lists and plan to do it soon. Congrats on 30 years that is awesome. I did not realise people could have no sense of smell. So interesting. Your getaway sounds perfect. I am trying to talk hubby into a family getaway during school holidays to a house in nsw. Xx
I think you’ll enjoy doing one Deb. It requires some examining of your thoughts and feelings which is always a good thing to do! It’s not 30 years just yet – not till Australia Day 2015 (26 Jan). I’m really looking forward to those 5 nights at the beach and cannot wait for a longer holiday to look forward to next year! 🙂 x
How exciting to have to plan a milestone wedding anniversary. Have you decided on a location? We celebrate 15 years next year.
Thanks Steph – no decision made yet but I am quite keen on visiting Tasmania. I’ve always wanted to go there 🙂 15 years is also a great milestone! xo
Congrats on completing your photog diploma! That’s awesome. What a fantastic achievement and your photos are beautiful x
Thanks so much Bele 🙂 xo
Glad to hear you’re loving your new blog – it’s a lovely space. Fingers crossed for your boy to find a job soon! x
Thanks Grace! 🙂 xo
